Sound-ful Wednesday: Rey Pila

Hey guys!

We continue discovering new music together and today is no exception. Rey Pila is a Mexican band formed in the 2010 with Diego Solórzano,Rodrigo Blanco,Andrés Velasco and Miguel Hernández.

Though it started as Diego’s solo project, Rey Pila became a later on all the members joined Diego’s project. Their first album “Rey Pila” was released on the year 2010 under the production of Solórzano himself and Paul Majahan (TV on the Radio, Liars, Yeah Yeah Yeahs).

After having had major success in Mexico and aboard Rey Pila moved to NYC on 2012 and started working on their second studio album, during that time they signed with Cult Records, Julian Cassablancas’ (The Strokes) record label.

Their second album “The Future Sugar” is album synth rock with  new wave mix with a bit of an 80’s vibe.  This album is super good for cheering you up, between the electro-pop 80’s sound and Diego Solórzano’s voice, you’ll definitely have a reason to smile and get a bit of a good vibe nostalgia going on.

Hope you guys enjoy it!
