I know it’s Friday and that I should post some really up beat songs but recently I’ve been feeling melancholic and I think my Itunes has noticed that as well haha so basically I’ve been listening to not sad songs per se but they’re definitely not the happiest songs as well. Let’s begin, shall we?
1. Natalie Imbruglia- Torn: I know this a major 90’s song but I just adore it and the lyrics and the version of this song seems to fit perfect with them; in case you didn’t know this song is actually a cover from the L.A. band Ednaswap. Natalie Imbruglia, born in Australia, is also an actress and a model.
2.John Mayer-Xo: This is another cover from Beyoncé’s Xo, but seriously I love this version so much more. I don’t know what it is but I feel it a bit more personal and I’m a huge John Mayer fan so maybe that why I like it so much, but seriously this song puts me in a very peaceful- melancholic kinda place.
3. Glen Hansard/ Marketa Irglova- Falling Slowly: If you have seen the movie “Once”, I’m sure you share the same feeling towards this song as I do. This song is part of the movie’s soundtrack and let me tell you that this OST is by far one of the most sincere soundtracks I’ve listening in a while.
4. Fobia- Hipnotizame: This is old school Mexican rock, ok maybe not that old but it is 90’s music. Fobia was a very successful band during that time and after that they still had one or two song that had good response. As far this song it was huge back in the days and nowadays I still find it so dramatical and perfect that I can’t stop listening to it.
“Kiss me , hypnotize me
I don’t care anymore
steal my soul, bewitch me…”
5.Adele- All I Ask: I mean, I can not have a melancholic playlist without Adele right? This song is my favorite song from her “25” album. It’s simple and direct and her vocals on this song are just mesmerizing . As far as the lyrics…simply amazing. Can you tell how much I adore her? haha
Hope you like it guys!
