I don’t know about you guys but this year feels hotter than last year and also I feel the sun rays a little bit more intense.
That’s when I knew it. I had to take care of my skin in a more proper way so I decided to try the basic; a good sunscreen which I know it’s fundamental in every skincare routine but for me it was something I could just skip.
But, how do we choose a sunscreen that fits our needs?
- Know your skin type: Every skin has different needs so when it comes to a good sunscreen knowing this will give you a huge advantage when it comes to finding the one that matches those needs. Want to know what works with your skin? Click here.
- SPF: According to the EWG (Environmental Working Group) it is better to buy a sunscreen that has a SPF higher than 15 but that’s lower than a SPF 50, this is because studies revealed that having a sunscreen with a SPF higher than 50 doesn’t imply a higher coverage and also if you have something higher than 50 you’ll probably think there’s no need to re apply it.
- UVA/UVB: Not only do the UVA rays cause damage to our skin the UVB rays are the ones responsable for burning and tanning our skin so when you’re looking in the sunscreen section all ways look for a sunscreen that say “broad spectrum” or “broad spectrum UVA/UVB” on the bottle.
- Water Resistance: If you’re like me and you sweat a lot or you like doing activities than involve water, try looking for the bottles that say “water resistant” but I should mention that the protection will only last 80 minutes tops depending on the brand.
